Quick and Easy Homemade Pineapple Jam
Make your mornings sweeter with this homemade pineapple jam, made from fresh pineapple, sugar, and a splash of lemon juice. It’s a simple, delicious spread that adds tropical flavor to toast, pancakes, or desserts. 🤤
What do we need for our Quick and Easy Homemade Pineapple Jam?
- 500 g fresh pineapple chunks
- 200 g sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
How do we make our Quick and Easy Homemade Pineapple Jam?
- Blend the pineapple chunks into a smooth puree. You can leave a few small chunks if you prefer a slightly chunky texture in your jam.
- In a large saucepan, combine the pineapple puree, sugar, and lemon juice. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Once it reaches a boil, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 25-30 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent sticking.
- The jam will start to thicken as the water evaporates. If you’d like to add a bit of warmth, stir in the ground cinnamon during the last few minutes of cooking.
- To check if the jam is ready, place a small spoonful on a cold plate and let it sit for a minute. If it thickens and doesn’t run, it’s ready. If it’s too runny, continue cooking and check again after a few more minutes.
- Once the jam reaches the desired consistency, remove it from the heat and let it cool slightly.
- Transfer the jam into sterilized jars, seal tightly, and let it cool completely. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or follow proper canning procedures for longer storage.
We enjoy our pineapple jam on toast, pancakes, with cheese or as a topping for our desserts!
👉 Tip: Put a tablespoon of the jam in a glass and fill it up with sparkling water for a refreshing pineapple lemonade.
